Danny, our Tibetan Terrier died at beginning of June after a short illness.
He loved sitting in the front row when we drove the car. No wonder with that top view and all the smells that came from outside. We will miss him on our future trips.
Lubricate the entire car was due, while I have also checked the oil level of the differential, transmission and steering. For topping, I use these syringes of various sizes.
To get a better look at the steering whether the oil level is correct or not, I wanted to mount 2 inspection windows. I've made it from a modified grease nipple. First, the ball and the spring must be removed and I enlarged the lubrication hole.
Subsequently, the top is filed flat.
The transparent glass is made of 4 mm acrylic glass that I have brought in a round shape with a file.
Inside the modified nipple, I coated the upper edge with Weicon and pushed the acrylic glass into the hole.
But I do still have a problem to solve. Due to my transfer of the lubrication hole by 2.5 cm upwards, I have closed the old opening with a screw and cut the head off. Now I would like to put my inspection window into that particular hole … In order not to damage something, I taped everything and then milled a slot with the Dremel and a small milling. In order to have enough power, I grinded a screwdriver shape at the end of a large Allen key.
With the 3rd attempt the screw has capitulated and I could remove it. Now I am relieved because I could perform the surgery without metal chips have fallen into my steering box.
The rest is a breeze, mounting the inspection windows and I have what I wanted.
On my 6V JumpStarter, a key was pushed accidentally when I had it in my backpack. Therefore I wanted to build a shell from 0.8 mm PET film.
The case is constructed like the cover of a book, you can spread it on one side and push the JumpStarter into the 'envelope'.
To get more stability I used the swaging machine - not only used for sheet metal …
The buttons are now protected and I can transport it with no worries.
