Ford Model A Pickup Restoration March 2014

The past month I had to find a solution for my headlight support.

It started with a crossbar where the surface of the two holes was horizontally oriented. It is the 3rd headlight support which was looking like that but in the meantime I guess all were modified in the past to mount different headlights than Ford used.

Correctly it should be mounted in this position.

At the fender you see how much the support must be bent.

I mounted a long angle profile to the end, in order to have a large lever arm.

In addition, I need also a torch to heat the ends. After the first treatment you already can see a difference.

Step by step I have bent it into the right shape for a perfect fit.

The headlight support is ready now for installation.

It must look like you see it on the picture (tilted forward). I will sandblast and paint it (again) but I will make it together with other parts later.

These old running boards cannot be used anymore.

The new boards don't have the correct size yet, I have to fit everything step by step.

New angle profiles are made too.

These are parts which will be welded and used for the running board. I want to be able to disassemble everything without destroying anything. My version needs a bit more effort, but is more service-friendly.
